Filipino Traditional Musicians
Traditional Music in the current setting of the socio-political situation of the Philippines while does not anymore garner a big share in the market, can still definitely acquire a lot of supporters and lovers. This is because of the fact that to love our own is innate in us (I know it is a bit of contradiction to my point of point of Filipinos being an addict for anything imported. My gut tells me that I still have to believe in nationalism). Although sadly this may be true, the quality of traditional music cannot be undermined for it is still composed of the richest and the healthiest quality of sound brought about by not some fancy electric contraptions but from traditional instruments that came mostly from natural sources and handcrafted through the most natural of ways.

Aside from being natural born singers and or instrumentalists, another manifestation of the fact that music runs in the blood of Filipinos is that many are good composers. “Filipinos understand music and music understands them” this saying is may be a bit absurd but speaking like the first inhabitants of the country this is a truth, which explains why Filipinos have a “hobby”, intended or not, of becoming good musicians in all respects about music.
